In type 1 diabetes pancreas stop producing insulin. This may be due to destruction of pancreas by excessive alcohol intake, disease, or removal of pancreas by surgery and in type 2 diabetes insulin produced the pancreas is almost negligible.

1. Type 1 diabetes usually occurs in early adolescence
2. Frequent urination
3. Unexplained weight loss
4. Extreme fatigue(Weakness)
5. Unquenchable thirst (Polydisia)
6. Tingling or numbness in your hands, legs or feet
7. Hunger (Polyphagia)
Type 2 diabetes generally occurs to persons over age above 45 years.
1. Blurred vision
2. Fatigue
3. Increased thirst
4. Increased urination
5. Increased appetite
The other important type of diabetes is Gestational diabetes. It comes to women generally in the second half of pregnancy.

Exercise
people who do regular exercises like walking, running, skipping, and some other practices of gym can keep diabetes away from them, as these exercises not only help an individual away from diabetes but also keeps him/her fit and maintain their weight.
Lose weight
Generally persons who gain weight in adulthood have high risk of getting diabetes.
Diet
The diet should be low in calorie and fat content.
Quit Smoking
Smoking is extremely dangerous to people suffering from diabetes. They are at risk of getting heart and blood vessels diseases.
Alcohol usage should be stopped as soon as possible as it can cause serious damage to diabetic patients.
